Location: The Center for Children and Women - Maternal Fetal Medicine


Essential Functions and Duties:

 

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is recruiting an experienced Maternal Fetal Medicine (MD/DO) to join The Center for Children and Women, a new patient and family-centered medical home.

 

  • Participates in formal and informal education programs for students (medical students, OB residents, advanced practice nursing students), other health professionals, and the general community.
  • Participates in clinical and systems-based research.
  • Supervises and teaches OB/GYN residents and medical students in outpatient or inpatient settings.
  • Works collaboratively with team members on quality improvement initiatives for both inpatient and outpatient care.
  • Participates in and actively supports the quality and safety programs of the hospital and of The Center.
  • Participates in and actively supports committee activities of the hospital and of The Center.
  • Provides updates and clear communication between nursing and OB/GYN physicians.
  • Organizes post-acute care for OB/GYN patients in the outpatient setting when appropriate.
  • Is responsible for providing input into clinical and administrative policies associated with the job's purpose and essential responsibilities.
  • Appropriately bills all provided services.
  • Contributes to the success of The Center by providing the highest-quality team-based care, being flexible and ready to ensure patients come first, and contributing to problem-solving in group settings.
  • Fosters Patient Centered Specialty Care concepts.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Education:  Board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology by American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) OR completed residency training in obstetrics and gynecology and eligible to sit for certification with the ABOG.
Experience:  Two years full scope of obstetrics practice preferred
Certification/Licenses/Registration: Required current licensure to practice medicine from the Texas Board of Medical Examiners
