Alkek Department of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) and The Texas Heart Institute at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston seek a board-certified non-invasive cardiologist with advanced expertise in echocardiography and multi-modality cardiovascular imaging to join the General Cardiology/Non-Invasive service line in the Division of Cardiology.
The ideal candidate is a highly skilled imager with training in an advanced cardiovascular imaging fellowship, strong clinical acumen, and a commitment to education, mentorship, and research in an academic setting. Level III training in Adult Echocardiography is required, and level III training in cardiac CT and cardiac MRI is preferred.
The Division of Cardiology at BCM is renowned for its comprehensive cardiovascular care and cutting-edge research, offering advanced treatments in heart failure, structural heart disease, electrophysiology, congenital heart conditions, and lipid disorders. The division comprises 64 faculty members and 51 fellows, providing care across Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center (BSLMC), the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center, and Ben Taub Hospital.
BCM recently announced a historic integration with The Texas Heart Institute, expanding its impact in cardiovascular patient care, research, and education.
The Adult Echocardiography Laboratory at BSLMC has a long-standing tradition of excellence, performing transthoracic, transesophageal, stress echocardiography, and structural heart imaging. The cardiac CT and MRI program is rapidly expanding, with a growing volume of complex cardiovascular pathology and structural heart disease imaging. These programs offer advanced imaging capabilities and play a central role in multidisciplinary care, research, and innovation.
The successful candidate will contribute to this high-volume, high-acuity imaging environment while actively participating in both outpatient and inpatient cardiology services and will hold a faculty appointment at Baylor College of Medicine, with a rank and compensation commensurate with their experience and accomplishments.
