Summary

 

Department's expectations are focused on several areas of academic activity: the initiation of a robust research program and securing external grant funding, educational contributions such as training and mentoring graduate students and postdocs, and the participation in Departmental and BCM programs and committees.

 

Job Duties:

  • Achieve some degree of national recognition in an area of expertise, high quality research publications.
  • Expected to maintain sufficient research activity (as measured by external grant support)
  • Publish high-quality research in peer-reviewed journals demonstrating the sustained productivity of your research program.
  • Present your research at national and international conferences and seminars at other institutions as appropriate for career development.
  • Mentor graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, neurosurgery residents and other trainees, as appropriate for career development.
  • Maintain a federally funded research program during the term of your agreement.
  • Serve on departmental, graduate school and medical school committees as appropriate for career development

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD degree
