Neurosurgery Associate Professor


Job Duties:

  • Maintain a federally funded research program during the term of your agreement.
  • Serve on departmental, graduate school and medical school committees as appropriate for career development
  • Publish high-quality research in peer-reviewed journals demonstrating the sustained productivity of your research program.
  • Present your research at national and international conferences and seminars at other institutions as appropriate for career development.
  • Mentor graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, neurosurgery residents and other trainees, as appropriate for career development.
  • Expected to maintain sufficient research activity (as measured by external grant support)
  • Expectations are focused on several areas of academic activity: the initiation of a robust research program and securing external grant funding, educational contributions such as training and mentoring graduate students and postdocs, and the participation in Departmental and BCM programs and committees.
  • Achieve some degree of national recognition in an area of expertise. High quality research publications.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. degree
