Summary

The Department of Neurology at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking an Associate Professor to provide comprehensive neurological care to patients while supporting the department's missions of clinical care, education, research, and service. The faculty member will participate in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, engage in scholarly activities, and contribute to the continued growth and success of the Department of Neurology.

Job Duties

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient neurological care to patients.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with a variety of neurological disorders.
  • Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans in accordance with current standards of care.
  • Supervise and educate medical students, residents, fellows, and other healthcare learners.
  • Participate in departmental educational conferences, lectures, and academic activities.
  • Participate in clinical, educational, or research activities that support the department's academic mission.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
  • Serve on departmental and institutional committees as assigned.
  • Maintain all required licensure, certifications, credentialing, and continuing medical education requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
  • Completion of an accredited Neurology residency program.
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Neurology.
  • Eligible for or licensed to practice medicine in the State of Texas.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in patient care, medical education, and academic medicine.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
