Title:  Medicine - Infectious Disease (Assistant Professor)

Summary

The Department of Medicine, Section of Infectious Disease at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) is seeking an early career physician whose experience is consummate with an academic appointment at the Assistant Professor level. With 14 sections, 10 centers, and seven vice-chair groups, the Margaret M. and Albert B. Alkek Department of Medicine is the largest adult practice department at Baylor College of Medicine. We are one of the largest education programs in the US with more than 700 trainees, and highly competitive specialty fellowship training programs, including seven federally funded research training grants.

The successful job applicant will participate in the clinical activities of our Harris Health System practice whose activities encompass inpatient consult service predominantly at Harris Health System- Ben Taub General Hospital. The successful candidate would be dedicated to developing a clinical practice that focuses on general infectious disease; however, specific interests in subspecialty areas such as but not restricted to transplant, critical care, and tropical medicine are an asset. The candidate would be expected to participate in the bedside and classroom teaching activities within the fellowship and medicine residency programs and to BCM students.
 
The Section of Infectious Disease at BCM has multiple active research grants from NIH, VA and industry, and a fellowship program.

• Minimum Education: M.D. or equivalent
• Requirements: Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in Infectious Disease
• Minimum Licensure/Certification: Licensed by the Texas Medical Board
