Summary

This position is based within IQuESt (Center for Innovations in Quality, Effectiveness and Safety), the largest health systems research center in the Southwest, dedicated to improving patient outcomes through high-quality, patient-centered research. We are seeking a full-time (40 hours/week) faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.

 

 The successful candidate will hold a doctoral degree and possess strong expertise in quantitative research methods and analytics. An established record of scholarly activity is required. The role involves contributing to the design, execution, analysis, evaluation, and dissemination of health services and outcomes research.

 

 Candidates must be highly motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while meeting deadlines with minimal supervision. The ability to learn new methodologies, tools, and adapt to evolving research priorities is essential.

 

This role serves as a key faculty position providing methodological leadership, supporting grant development, conducting advanced analyses, and contributing to the institution's mission through research, mentorship, and service.

 

Job Duties

  • Apply advanced quantitative methods and study designs to conduct rigorous analyses of complex healthcare studies.
  • Develop and implement advanced statistical approaches using software such as SAS, R, or Stata.
  • Contribute to grant applications, reports, and research documentation.
  • Disseminate research findings through publications and presentations.
  • Experience with survey development, psychometrics, observational study design, large datasets, and data management (e.g., SQL) is a plus, but not essential.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Communicate research methods and findings effectively to diverse audiences, including technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in mentorship, service, and other faculty responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Psychology, Pharmacy, or a related quantitative field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in study design, quantitative methods, statistical analysis, and programming.
  • Proven scholarly productivity and experience contributing to grant development, dissemination, and collaborative research.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Preferred: Experience in health services or outcomes research.
