Summary

The section of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine, Department of Medicine seeks a fellowship trained BC/BE geriatrician to expand our ongoing programs of education, research, and clinical care in Geriatrics. This position will be primarily provide inpatient consultation coverage at Baylor St. Luke's Hospital including some weekend call. The position includes service to the geriatrics population in the housecalls setting within the Harris Health System. The geriatrician is envisioned to have an important role in the education of BCM medical students as well as opportunities for scholarship and leadership.

 

The ideal candidate should have formal training in Geriatric Medicine (BC/BE), including training with home based medical care. Candidates will enter at the assistant or associate professor level, tenure or non-tenure track, based on experience and qualifications. Salary and benefit packages are very competitive. Job Duties

  • Provide excellent patient care.
  • Productivity needs to meet or exceed standards as set by the Section and/or Department.
  • Maintain continuing medical education as per college and section requirements.
  • Renew and meet all required licenses and certification requirements.
  • Familiarize with EPIC- electronic medical records and document all patient encounters as needed.
  • Complete all documentation in a timely manner to ensure a robust operational system.
  • Maintain credentialing at all times to ensure practice is not disrupted.
