Title: Medicine - General Medicine (Assistant Professor)
Summary
Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) is seeking full-time Nocturnists to provide Hospital Medicine services at CHI St. Luke's Health Sugar Land Hospital. The ideal candidates are patient-centered, and committed to excellence in providing quality care in an inpatient setting. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in Internal or Family Medicine.

Job Duties
- Performs a variety of duties such as H&Ps, medical orders, and provides care to assigned patients.
- Makes clinical decisions relative to inpatient management through collaboration with Hospitalists and Consults.
- Works in partnership with an interdisciplinary team in the development and delivery of patient care.
- Facilitates appropriate admissions by initiating orders, coordinating with appropriate attending physician, and moderating medication reconciliation process. Assists with discharge summary as per Hospitalist service standards.
- Communicates with physicians, nursing staff, residents and other members of the medical team to maintain current and accurate updates in patient status.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and exemplifies the Baylor College of Medicine core values, respects patients, service providers, organizational confidentiality and HIPAA Security procedures and protocols.
- Participates in division meetings, quality improvement projects and other activities of the Hospital Medicine Program.
Minimum Qualifications
- BC/BE Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Current valid license to practice medicine in the State of Texas
- Current DEA certificate (or in progress)
- Proficiency in documenting and billing in any setting above, or in the hospitalist setting
