Summary
Performs engineering and design work on in-house modifications and projects. Works with The Children's Nutrition Research Center (CNRC) Facilities and Energy Management technicians to ensure facility systems are maintained and operated at maximum efficiency.
Must be available 24/7 to support and direct emergency response or scheduled equipment shutdowns. Must be onsite to support operations during emergencies or shutdowns.
Job Duties
- Oversees equipment maintenance and replacement.
- Works with staff and contractors to ensure compatibility of materials and quality of workmanship.
- Identifies inefficiencies and operating inadequacies; researches and implements solutions.
- Manages equipment replacement and modifications from concept through design, installation and commissioning.
- Researches, designs and sources appropriate materials and equipment for building repairs, capital improvements and other facilities projects.
- Serves as a BCM liaison with contractors, USDA engineering other entities for projects, repairs for scope and quality assurance.
- Performs life safety, laboratory safety upgrades and modifications.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Eight years of relevant experience. Degrees in lieu of experience will not be accepted.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in mechanical engineering.
- Background in HVAC, EMS, plumbing, electrical, breathing air production, deionized water.
- Laboratory and/or high rise commercial building background.
