Job Title:  Manager, Construction Planning, Design, and Development (Facilities Manager)
Division:  Pediatrics
Work Arrangement:  Onsite only
Location:  Houston, TX
Salary Range:  $124,453 - $160,000
FLSA Status:  Exempt
Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Summary

Oversees the operations and maintenance of the Children's Nutrition Research Center. Oversees maintenance, security, receiving and housekeeping. Liaison between customers, contractors and other BCM functions and departments. Coordinates and supports USDA and BCM projects.

Job Duties

  • Research and develop solutions to facility equipment operations and repairs. Investigate problems seeking best and economical solutions.
  • Explore sources for funding through USDA and BCM for repairs and/or projects.
  • Review and update group policies and procedures to reflect best available practices.
  • Oversight of equipment maintenance and replacement.
  • Working with staff and contractors to ensure quality of workmanship.
  • Manage equipment replacement and modification from concept through design, installation and commissioning.
  • Liaison between USDA, BCM, contractors, Facilities team and customers. 
  • Ensure Life safety and laboratory safety standards are maintained and labs and equipment are compliant. 
  • Maintain and repair Security hardware and software and produce monthly reports. 
  • Perform Energy Management System maintenance and corrections. Develop strategies for upgrades and improvements.
  • Supervise facility services staff.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Four years of relevant experience. Degrees in lieu of experience will not be accepted.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • BA or BS in Operations Management. 
  • Background and training in HVAC, Emergency Management Systems, plumbing, electrical, breathing air production, deionized water. 
  • Experience with laboratory and/or high-rise building safety and management.
