Title: Manager, Research Administration
Summary
Provides oversight and support for the administrative and financial operations of research studies and clinical trials in Pediatric Cardiology. Manages and leads pre- and/or post-award grant management activities for the section. Manages and oversees staff activity for the grant management team.
This is an onsite role with future hybrid work potential.
Job Duties
Personnel management
- Manage and oversee activity of the research core grant management team
- Supervise and make decision in collaboration with the executive leadership to assure sufficient coverage of grant related duties and incoming requests
- Set goals and train to provide readiness for assigned duties
- Perform annual performance reviews for staff related to the grant management team
- Approve and manage time out of office for grant related research staff
Operations/Financial management
- Collaborate with Texas Children's Hospital leadership, BCM Pediatrics and outside stakeholders to make recommendations and accomplish proposed research goals and further the expansion and funding opportunities for faculty and research staff in Pediatric Cardiology
- Oversee monthly financial and administrative reporting for CCRC research projects and clinical trials to assure timely project spend, reporting, invoicing and performance within sponsor and institutional guidelines
- Create ad hoc reports for Cardiology leadership related to funding, personnel and accounts
- Provide oversight and support for the administrative and financial operations of multiple research studies and clinical trials
Manage and lead pre- and/or post-award grant management activities
- Manage new and pending account set-ups o assure all personnel allocations as budgeted on grants
- Oversee set-up of new studies in TCH Epic o submit budget revisions, study amendment submissions, project resubmissions for federal, state, local and industry sponsors
- Meet with Principal Investigators’ to review accounts and help assure timely account spend for all research accounts
- Oversee timely submission of carryovers, annual reports, no-cost extensions, Just in Time submissions, incoming and outgoing subaward set-ups
- Submit MTA’s, DUA’s, CTA’s and NDA’s
- Complete and upload all required information and upload all files to BRAIN as well as any other database/website as required by the funding source (ie: ASSIST, eBRAP, CPRIT, etc.)
- Pay invoices for service providers
- Set-up clinical trials for new and existing studies in the Clinical Trial Management System (BCM)
- Negotiate Clinical Trial Agreements and be the point of contact with internal and external stakeholders from start to full execution of project agreements
- Order research supplies and set up Purchase Orders for vendors and subaward payments
- Work with section leadership during annual Budget submission and assure entry for all research accounts in the department budget tool
- Serve as point of contact between sponsors, principal investigators, research staff, and institution
- Assist with submission of grant proposals; reviews grant proposals for accuracy and completeness
- Create and maintain biosketches, Other Support and all relevant documents required for sponsored research proposals
- Monitor, pre-review and assure completeness of time and effort reporting for the section
- Create and maintains research databases
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree. Certified Research Administrator certification through the Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC) may substitute for the degree requirement.
- Four years of relevant experience.
