Summary

Directly responsible for the activities of the Global Tuberculosis Program to ensure that the goals and objectives of the program and related projects are accomplished on budget and within the specified timeframe. Reports directly to and collaboratively with the program director, works closely with the Houston-based program faculty and section administrator, and partners/communicates directly with and oversees the Houston-based support team and TB team members at international sites. Occasional international travel to project sites and educational forums will be required.

 

This position may be eligible to work a hybrid work arrangement after an orientation and training period.

Job Duties

  • Oversees the projects and activities of the TB Program to ensure that implementation and prescribed activities are carried out in accordance with specified objectives, within budget, and on a specified timeline.
  • Develops and analyzes project goals, responsible for schedule of deadlines for project completion, and develops action plans and processes for project completion from inception to evaluation; tracks program/project progress through planning documents and measurement and evaluation tools/frameworks.
  • Manages division coordinators, including defining work responsibilities and prioritization, setting performance development plans and goals, and conducting annual performance evaluations.
  • Supports the Program Director, senior program faculty, and program administrator to develop strategic work plans in alignment with international TB strategies and guidelines; analyzes program goals, assigns deliverables to peers, provides action plans, and determines evaluation metrics to track the success.
  • Works directly with external partners including CDC, DOD, ISGlobal, USAID, NIH, FIC, and other implementing partners and funders to ensure project success.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains appropriate policies and procedures concerning project administration including IRB submission.
  • Identifies possible grant or other funding opportunities in line with the Global TB Program mission to ensure continuous funding.
  • Researches and prepares executive program summaries, proposals, presentations, and annual grant reporting to funders, stakeholders, and strategic partners.
  • Organizes and establishes drafts for annual grant reporting to funders.
  • Tailors new hire job descriptions, interviews, and onboards new team members both in the US and at international sites.
  • Contributes to peer-reviewed manuscripts submitted to scientific journals and outlets.
  • Monitors budgets and financial data related to the Global TB Program including all grant and operational funds.
     

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Four years of relevant experience. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field and two years of relevant experience may also be considered.
  • Direct experience with operational research and/or implementation science.
  • Global health experience.
  • Grant experience.
