The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible to install, repair, and maintain machinery and equipment. The Maintenance Mechanic responsibilities will include performing regular inspections of machinery and equipment, carrying out preventative maintenance, and fulfilling other duties such as building maintenance assigns.  To be a successful Maintenance Mechanic, the applicant must have a practical mind, mechanical aptitude, and a strong attention to detail. The Maintenance Mechanic will provide support to the institution in situations that may arise, including disaster preparation and response, building flooding, and contractor supervision.

To be a successful maintenance mechanic, you should have a practical mind, mechanical aptitude, and strong attention to detail. A successful Maintenance Mechanic will be able to lift 30 pounds or more and has the ability to use a ladder. 

Job Duties

  • Assembles, installs, and maintains mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment
  • Troubleshoots equipment and performs routine preventative maintenance
  • Reads, interprets, and follows instructions and operation manuals and schematics
  • Completes assigned work orders and communicates with the departments throughout the process
  • Cleans, repairs, and installs equipment and parts as needed
  • Operates a variety of hand and power tools
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment
  • Performs general maintenance work on buildings as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Two years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or similar role
  • Knowledge and ability to handle power tools
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Physical dexterity/ability to lift heavy objects and use ladder
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability
  • Good troubleshooting skills
