Title: Maintenance Mechanic I
Summary
The Children's Nutrition Research Center (CNRC) is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic I to perform routine repairs and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment. This position will operate and maintain the CNRC facility. Candidates should have strong mechanical aptitude, working knowledge of building codes, good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
This is a night shift position.
Work hours: Wednesday and Thursday 11:00 p.m. - 9:00 a.m., Friday 11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. and Saturday 7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. Weekday shifts have some flexibility.
Job Duties
Operates and maintains:
- Chilled water and steam, excluding generation..
- Potable water distribution and associated equipment.
- De ionized water generation.
- Emergency power.
- Monitoring building automated system (BAS).
- Manages other facility support systems.
- Responds to and resolves BAS alarms.
- Troubleshooting and Preventive Maintenance of BAS and Control Equipment.
- Assists with preventative maintenance and repair programs.
- Provides assistance with life safety or security situations as necessary.
- Some lifting (as much as 125 lbs.), climbing and respirator use is required.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED and completion of Trade School or Associate’s Degree program.
- One year of maintenance mechanic experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification/Licenses/Registration: Building Maintenance Certificate.
- Some lifting (as much as 125 lbs.), climbing and respirator use is required.
