Oversees Children's Nutrition Research Center (CNRC) building automated system (BAS) equipment maintenance and upgrades. Responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of all CNRC central systems in support of research.

Job Duties

  • Provide supervision and training for maintaining, monitoring, and upgrading the CNRC BAS.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance checks on the CNRC BAS modules.
  • Maintain preventative maintenance logs and contracted service visits for CNRC BAS modules.
  • Diagnose and perform BAS programming. Configure BAS alarms and perform sensor calibrations and operation verification (commissioning).
  • Responsible for delegating, monitoring, troubleshooting, and verifying the completion of central equipment systems-related tasks. Interface these functions with the CNRC work order database.
  • Regularly monitor energy uses in key BAS equipment.
  • Assist with devising methods to reduce CNRC power consumption by applying state-of-the-art machine logic to consistently adjust energy utilization to match user demand.
  • Acquire parts and services for the maintenance and repair of BAS and other central systems.
  • Respond to BAS emergencies at the CNRC including providing technical support to faculty and staff 24 hours / 7 days.
  • Report all energy fluctuations and anomalies to Energy Management Manager. 
  • Available to work other shifts as necessary.
  • Use of ANSI class 75 safety shoes is required.
  • Provide technical work direction and training to other CNRC energy management workers. 
  • Provide assistance with life safety or security situations as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Six years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Air Conditioning Contractor, Class C, State of Texas.
  • Maintenance Electrician, State of Texas, License.
  • EPA Certified Universal Technician.
