Summary
Provides oversight and programming of the Baylor College of Medicine Security Department's physical security card access and video network services, assists users in resolving complex problems using available technology, and acts as an internal consultant in specialized projects and products.
Job Duties
- Responsible for the operation and management of the networked services (CCURE Server, Passage Point Visitor Management Server, DVR Networking and other network applications).
- Provides systems support and troubleshooting for card access and other security systems to university personnel.
- Assists in resolving complex and non-routine hardware, software, operating system or integration problems.
- Provides on-the-job training and supervision for handling routine BCM Physical Security network requests and programming duties.
- Acts as a consultant in analyzing and integrating workflow design, card access needs, and other resources to provide streamlined efficiencies.
- Provides network support of on-site installations and diagnosis; directs server maintenance; and performs technical design and purchasing recommendations as needed.
- Evaluates new products and system upgrades; recommends department purchase, standards, and implementation plans.
- Conducts technical research and provides reports on findings.
- Diagnoses network problems, evaluates optimum solutions and communicates the resolutions to the Planning and Systems Commander.
- Audits status of work orders.
- Maintains and updates CCURE primary and secondary servers; and backup CCURE server.
- Creates and maintains new door groups and clearances and manages time of day events in access system software program.
- Obtains IP addresses for security devices (Istars, DVRs, etc.).
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Six years of relevant experience.
