Job Purpose

Oversees day-to-day administrative and business operations for the department. 

Job Duties

This candidate would be responsible for handling day to day operations for the Palliative care group within the Section of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine. This work should be done on an independent basis with limited guidance from Section Chief and Section Administrator.
• Support recruitment of palliative care physicians and/or nurses, faculty appointments and promotions, visas (to include H1B and J1),  and credentialing/re-credentialing with Baylor MedCare and affiliated Hospitals.
• Develop internal policies and procedures to insure compliance with BCM and BSLMC policies.
• Serve as an administrative contact for various levels of BCM and BSLMC Leadership which requires candidate to be an active and educated participant.
• Organize academic activities of Palliative care faculty members which may include but not limited to faculty meetings, performance reviews and grand rounds.
• Provide financial operations management for the Palliative care group by monitoring accounts, completing financial transactions ( such as JVs) and providing information for budget preparation. Candidate should have good understanding of financial operations.
• Data collection and reporting as required to measure clinical performance, financial benchmarks and quality measures. This will require understanding of EMR systems as well as medical billing information.
• Support the grant management activities.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Required: High School diploma or GED.
  • Required: Six years of relevant experience.
