Summary
The Lead Coordinator, Audio and Video Communications provides technical leadership and supervision for audiovisual (AV) operations across Baylor College of Medicine. This role supports the Health Sciences Building (HSP) and all BCM supported spaces, ensuring reliable AV services for classrooms, events, and specialized instructional environments. The position combines hands-on technical expertise, staff supervision, and project coordination, with a focus on supporting advanced learning spaces, including simulation labs, anatomy environments, and technology-enhanced classrooms. Also, this position requires the ability to accept client and/or emergency calls. Able to move gear and/or rapid response to assist clients on an as-needed basis.
Candidates should be available to start in July.
Job Duties
- Supervise work and coordinate daily activities of AV Coordinators, including task assignment, performance oversight, and escalation support.
- Oversee AV operations and service delivery for classrooms, events, and institutional activities across BCM.
- Lead AV support for complex environments, including simulation, anatomy, and integrated AV classrooms.
- Manage AV installation and upgrade projects, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
- Provide technical leadership for AV system design, programming, troubleshooting, and standardization.
- Train staff and educate faculty on AV system use and best practices.
- Partner with stakeholders and vendors on AV solutions, installations, and technology improvements.
- Monitor service performance and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and user experience.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Six years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience will also be considered.
- AVIXA CTS or above; also any Extron, Crestron, AMX, Qsys, or Biamp certifications.
