The Lead Solutions Architect - Infrastructure Automation serves a critical role to further innovation and process optimization through automation and orchestration. Interacts with faculty and staff at all levels across job areas to understand business requirements and identify solutions. Seeks continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for system integration across core IT infrastructure domains, including virtualization, public cloud, storage, security, database, and networking.  The position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

Job Duties

  • Works on team of 15 infrastructure Engineers and Architects.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure infrastructure architecture aligns with the college's goals.
  • Provides tier three support responsibilities when needed.
  • Provides guidance and assistance to junior members.
  • Functions well in high tempo environment.
  • Conversant across core infrastructure technologies, including virtualization, public cloud, storage, security, database, and networking.
  • Designs, tests, deploys, and maintains infrastructure automation processes and code.
  • Leverages scripting and automation platforms to build and support infrastructure service delivery capabilities (e.g. virtual server deployments and file share management).
  • Helps facilitate user acceptance testing and provides quality assurance for new deliverables.
  • Addresses defects that are encountered with automation features.
  • Seeks innovative solutions to problems and makes recommendations to modernize legacy systems, infrastructure, and services.
  • Maintains developed/implemented systems and automations.
  • Re-evaluates when requirements and resources change.
  • Analyzes existing system logic to diagnose deficiencies and/or make enhancements.
  • Develops automation proof-of-concepts, pilots, and production implementations.
  • Develop standard operating procedures and knowledge base articles.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree. Four years of relevant experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • Six years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Will consider applicants with HS/GED and 10 years' experience or Associate degree and 8 years' experience or Master's and four years' experience.
