Summary

Are you skilled in leading teams using the tools and products listed below and want to design solutions to meet the business and technical challenges in our exciting environment? The Data Governance Solutions Architect will work with stakeholders and the IT team to design and deliver information management solutions for clients using traditional and big data techniques. This is a client facing role requiring exceptional communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate the business case for data governance solutions to our clients.

 

As a Data Governance Solutions Architect, you will enable stakeholders across the College to leverage data so that we can transform the business by solving complex problems. This is a critical role in ensuring that Baylor OIT continues to be the thought leader in technology and will partner with stakeholders to ensure the solutions provided meet/exceed expectations. In this role, you will bring together your knowledge of the technical governance of the data landscape (e.g., understand standards for architectures, data transformation and DQ, ETL) with solid understanding of Data Governance models and experience embedding the data governance processes across business units. You will define the scope and vision for projects that deliver customized solutions using your knowledge of data governance and management platforms. You are a technical leader, serving as a liaison among business partners, technical resources, and project stakeholders.

 

As a Data Governance Solutions Architect on this team, your primary focus will be to be the subject matter expert associated with the data governance requirements of the BCM data community, providing technical leadership and design facilitation deliver data governance systems while being hands-on, with data cataloging, governance and metadata management using Informatica EDC and Axon.

 

This position is eligible to work a hybrid work arrangement.

Job Duties

  • Applies hands-on, deep experience with data governance and metadata management using Informatica EDC and Axon for project delivery.
  • Acts as the subject matter expert associated with the data governance requirements of the BCM data community. 
  • Provides technical leadership, analysis and design facilitation across business, information, technical and solution viewpoints to deliver data governance systems and/or technology application solutions.
  • Responds to production issues, performs troubleshooting, and initiates improvements to software utilized by the data catalog and governance solutions. 
  • Provides Business Intelligence solutions including reports, dashboards and security models. Streamlines and improves the data integration processes to have easily accessible single source of data. Recommends best practices and methodologies related to data services systems. 
  • Collaborates with IT Project Managers to successfully manage project implementations. 
  • Keeps current on emerging technologies and methodologies and determines applicability at BCM. 
  • Troubleshoots and tunes existing data warehouse applications. 
  • Evaluates existing subject areas stored in the data warehouse. 
  • Incorporates existing subject areas into an enterprise model. 
  • Creates new or enhanced components of the data warehouse.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree. Four years of relevant experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • Six years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Master's degree and four years of relevant experience may also be considered.
  • The successful candidate will have exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, be regarded as a team player, have strong and proven organizational skills, and have a personal drive to be their best.
  • Experience working with Informatica EDC and Axon, SQL Server, Oracle, API, JSON, and Epic EHR along with a variety of other data related technologies.
