Summary
Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) is seeking a dynamic team member to serve as a Lead supporting CHAT (Consortium for Healthcare and Academic Technology) and SETG (Southeast Texas GigaPop) within the Office of Information Technology. As a Lead, you will play a pivotal role in developing and nurturing key relationships, ensuring their satisfaction and loyalty. Your primary focus will be on collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve business goals, identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, and acting as a liaison between CHAT & SETG members and their governing bodies. This role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, strategic thinking, and a proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships. This is a part-time position working 22 hours per week.
Job Duties
Relationship Development & Organizational Growth
- Represent the broader member interest of the consortia of CHAT and SETG, serving as the primary liaison and advocate for institutional priorities.
- Help lead the strategic direction and continued growth of CHAT and SETG in terms of membership, partnerships, and investment opportunities.
- Foster collaboration with regional, state, and national stakeholders to expand the impact and reach of both organizations.
- Lead the development of long-term plans to enhance the value proposition of CHAT and SETG for current and prospective members.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business goals and deliver exceptional membership experiences.
- Monitor and analyze membership feedback to continuously improve services and address any concerns promptly.
- Working within the direction of the governing boards, assist with the management of budgets, funding proposals, and investment strategies for CHAT and SETG.
- Monitor financial performance and ensure responsible stewardship of resources including the collection and receipt of monthly dues and recoveries by the participating organizations and members.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and briefings for CHAT and SETG governing boards and external stakeholders.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree. Four years of relevant experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- Six years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive management experience in IT, with at least 5 years in an IT business relations management role.
- Proven experience managing or collaborating with consortia, research networks, or academic technology partnerships.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinker with a track record of driving organizational growth and innovation.
- Deep understanding of research and education networks across organizations.
- Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and navigate academic, healthcare, and governmental environments.
