The Lead Financial Analyst in the Department of Medicine will focus on financial analysis, forecasting budgets, and preparing complex and specialized financial reports. The Lead Financial Analyst will be responsible for gathering and organizing data for the yearly operating budget. Other responsibilities will include processing financial transactions and monitoring accounts. The ideal candidate would have strong analytical skills, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, as well as experience presenting complex financial data to senior leadership in a comprehensible format.

Job Duties

  • Independently performs accounting/financial research and other special studies/projects as requested by management.
  • Mentors administrative team on financial processes, procedures, and forecasting.
  • Recognized as accounting and financial reporting expert.
  • Demonstrates end to end knowledge of business activities and formulates strategy to comply with reporting requirements.
  • Performs financial analysis and forecasts budgets for Leadership, Faculty, and Staff within the department.
  • In conjunction with the Finance Director and Department Administrator, manages the department budget to ensure budget compliance throughout the year; requests budget revisions as needed.
  • Prepares complex and specialized financial analysis for potential opportunities and compliance.
  • Assists with yearly operating budget; gathers and organizes data.
  • Performs and monitors account reconciliation.
  • Provides financial, and operational support to administrative team; coordinates with administrative team on department positions as needed.
  • Provides recommendation to improve financial and operating reporting processes, requirements and controls.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field.
  • Six years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business, Finance or Accounting.
  • Concur and SAP experience is also desired for this position.
