Summary
Seeking self-motivated individual to work in a developmental glial biology lab of Dr. Hyun Kyoung Lee, Principal Investigator at the Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute at Texas Children’s Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, US.
HK Lee laboratory will focus on the identification of novel molecular signaling pathways and regulation in glial cell development. Based on these developmental studies, we will translate developmentally derived findings to associated disorders in an effort to develop therapeutic interventions. To achieve this goal, we will be utilizing molecular and cellular approaches in conjunction with classic genetic manipulation in both chick and mouse models and an array of CNS and PNS injury models; which ultimately will be applied to human neurological disorders.
Job Duties
- Maintain breeding of mouse colonies: e.g. ordering animals, breeding, weaning and genotyping.
- Performs basic molecular biology techniques: extracting DNA, histology, and other techniques and general lab duties.
- Making laboratory solutions and reagents.
- Operate laboratory equipment.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- No experience.
