Title:  LIS Analyst

Summary

Research Support Services (RSS) is seeking an LIS (Laboratory Information System) Analyst. Baylor College of Medicine (BCM)will be providing an Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) solution as an institutional offering. The software solution will require institutional support for content documentation, training development and support, development of best practices for lab use, SOP development and first level end-user support. Additionally, the position will liaison between the solution vendor and the Office of Research that will be supporting the offering.

Job Duties

• Assists with the implementation of the Electronic Lab Notebook solution.  
• Provides first-level content end-user support.  Creates and supports solution to escalate possible break/fixes. 
• Creates and supports end-user training. 
• Develops and maintains required documentation for BCM specific lab notebook policies and procedures. 
• Establishes and supports content related communication with the OOR and the software vendor. 
• Supports on boarding of new labs moving to the ELN solution.  
• Performs other duties as assigned.
   

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Medical Technology or a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
• Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field.
• Strong customer service orientation and excellent communication skills.
• Solid working knowledge of research laboratory practices and the associated terms/language used in these environments.
• Experience working in research labs - bench science.
