Summary
The intern will gain experience in microbiological and molecular biology methods. The intern/aide will be timely, show responsibility, have the ability to work independently and take ownership of their work. The intern will support ongoing studies for Dr. Kristina Hulten and will independently run assays (after training), laboratory maintenance.
Job Duties
- Learns scientific process that includes study design, execution, analysis and reporting of data.
- Learns specific laboratory methods.
- Learns quality control measures.
- Works on microbiology and molecular biology techniques that includes but not limited to qPCR, PFGE, data analysis.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in high school, trade/vocational school or higher education institution.
Preferred Qualifications
- College student having completed a minimum of one year of undergraduate studies on a biology/chemistry related track who is working towards a graduate degree (PhD or MD) in the future.
- Previous laboratory experience in PCR, microbiology methods is required.
