Summary
The Intern/Aide will provide essential support for laboratory research activities, with a focus on cell culture and general lab operations. Responsibilities include maintaining and passaging various cell lines while ensuring optimal growth conditions and sterility. The intern will perform routine PCR-based mycoplasma testing to safeguard culture integrity and contribute to the reliability of research outcomes.
In addition to technical duties, the intern will assist with day-to-day laboratory maintenance, including autoclaving equipment, organizing supplies, and maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment. They will prepare reagents and solutions to support ongoing projects led by senior faculty and contribute to imaging and cell culture data collection and organization.
The role emphasizes the development of foundational laboratory skills, including proper use of scientific instrumentation (training provided as needed), accurate documentation of experimental procedures, and adherence to lab protocols. The intern will also reflect on laboratory experiences to strengthen the connection between theoretical knowledge and practical application.
This position is designed to support students pursuing advanced education in biomedical sciences, including MD or PhD pathways, by fostering technical competency, research awareness, and professional growth within an academic research environment.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Must be enrolled in high school, trade/vocational school or higher education institution.
