Summary
This position is designed for individuals interested in pursuing careers in basic science or medicine and offers valuable, hands-on experience in a laboratory research environment. Ideal candidates are preparing for graduate or medical school and have flexible availability to contribute approximately 10–15 hours per week (with potential adjustments during the summer).
The intern will actively participate in experimental research, including conducting experiments and collecting, analyzing, and documenting data to support ongoing institutional research initiatives. Through guided training, participants will develop competency in fundamental laboratory techniques, operate research instrumentation, and assist in preparing reagents and experimental materials.
This internship emphasizes the integration of academic knowledge with practical application, encouraging participants to reflect on laboratory experiences and strengthen their scientific skill set. By engaging in activities such as documenting procedures, compiling imaging and cell culture data, and supporting senior faculty research, interns will be well-prepared for future academic pursuits, including PhD or MD programs.
