Summary
The Intern/Research Aide will support ongoing research in the Department of Molecular and Human Genetics by assisting with laboratory-based experiments and participating in the collaborative scientific environment of the lab. This role is designed to provide hands-on research experience and exposure to academic biomedical research.
Internship objectives:
1. Gain hands-on wet lab skills.
2. Gain insights the molecular basis of neurodegenerative disease.
3. Practice scientific presentation skills and public speaking.
The intern will perform experiments in the lab and attend the weekly lab meetings and present their findings to the lab at the end of the internship.
Job Purpose
Provides temporary administrative or laboratory support to a department while gaining practical work experience.
Job Duties
- Performs entry level administrative or laboratory duties.
- May observe tasks related to field of study or career interest.
- May assists with special projects/programs.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Must be enrolled in high school, trade/vocational school or higher education institution.
