Summary

The intern will be working together with a scientist in the lab to validate a new zebrafish model of a neurodegenerative disease.

 

During the internship, interns will:

  • Learn how to extract DNA from fish tissue. 
  • Be able to successfully perform PCR analysis to genotype fish.
  • Assess and handle zebrafish to set up crosses and perform behavior assays.

Job Purpose

Provides temporary administrative or laboratory support to a department while gaining practical work experience.  

Job Duties

  • Performs entry level administrative or laboratory duties.
  • May observe tasks related to field of study or career interest.
  • May assists with special projects/programs. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in high school, trade/vocational school or higher education institution.
