Summary
The intern will be trained in neuroscience behavioral research using pigeon animal models. The project involves tracking homing pigeons using GPS devices and neural recording of brain cells involved in navigation.
Job Purpose
Provides temporary administrative or laboratory support to a department while gaining practical work experience.
Job Duties
- Performs detailed literature review.
- Performs pigeon flight training in homing behavior.
- Performs GPS tagging of pigeons, tracking flight behavior.
- Performs GPS data recording and analyses.
- Performs neural signal data downloads from recorded transducer devices.
- Performs data analyses of GPS tracking and neural signals for navigation.
- Maintains laboratory support for pigeon flight experiments .
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in high school or be a high school graduate (or equivalent secondary education) or enrolled in an institution of higher education.
