Summary
Texas Children's Cancer and Hematology Center offers a paid summer internship program with learning opportunities within the research labs, administration, and psychosocial services. The program fosters the development of learners who have demonstrated an interest in pediatric hematology/oncology (PHO) or pediatric healthcare.
Candidates must be a minimum of 17 years of age to adhere to employment policy.
Job Purpose
Provides temporary administrative or laboratory support to a department while gaining practical work experience.
Job Duties
The intern/Aide will support and learn about marketing activities in the Texas Children's Cancer and Hematology Center Center.
- Research activity data analyses
- Photography, video and post-processing (Adobe Creative Suite)
- Social media - Strategic content preparation (from inception to posting)
- Website management
- Writing and editing
- Project management
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in high school, trade/vocational school or higher education institution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current high school, undergraduate, or graduate student (preferred)
- Interest in pediatric healthcare, education, or patient and family engagement
- Strong organizational and general administrative skills
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word
- Ability to work well with children and families in a healthcare environment
- Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn
