Job Purpose
Provides temporary administrative or laboratory support to a department while gaining practical work experience.
Job Duties
- Participate in introductory training on bioinformatics concepts and project objectives
- Manage, clean, and organize biological and genomics-related datasets
- Conduct statistical and computational analyses using established workflows
- Apply programming skills (e.g., Python and R) to support data analysis tasks
- Interpret and summarize analytical results under mentor supervision
- Contribute to ongoing research projects within the lab
- Perform literature reviews related to assigned research topics
- Attend lab meetings, project discussions, and training sessions
- Prepare and present findings or project updates as required
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in high school, trade/vocational school or higher education institution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Bioinformatics, Biomedical Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field
- Experience with programming languages such as Python and R
- Basic understanding of molecular biology concepts
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Interest in bioinformatics research and project-based learning
- Ability to work collaboratively in a research-focused environment
