Summary

The Internship will provide an opportunity for the intern/aide to work closely with a Postdoctoral Fellow in the lab of Dr. Benjamin Deneen in order to improve technical skills in basic biological science in a research lab setting. This is a part-time position, 20 hours/week.

Job Duties

• Works on research project to further understand brain tumor biology and immune functions of the mouse brain by reading existing literature.
• Understands data analysis using technical software to prepare figures for publication.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in high school, trade/vocational school or higher education institution. 

Preferred Qualifications

• Intern will become technically proficient in mice handling, sample harvesting, sectioning and fluorescence microscopy.
• Undergraduate in biological science and special interest in neuroscience and cancer biology.
• Student should have goals of pursuing career in biomedical sciences.
• Knowledge of basic molecular biology principles and methodologies.
• Ability to work with Microsoft word and excel.
