Summary
The Intern Aide - Research will support ongoing research studies in Dr. Yingbin Fu's lab within the Department of Ophthalmology. This internship is designed to provide hands-on exposure to basic translational research through structured training and guided laboratory experience. The intern will gain foundational knowledge of research techniques, assist with laboratory projects, and contribute to literature searches and data organization while working under the supervision of laboratory leadership. This summer opportunity emphasizes learning, comprehension, and practical application of core research concepts in academic medical research.
Job Purpose
Provides temporary administrative or laboratory support to a department while gaining practical work experience.
Job Duties
- Learns and apply basic translational research techniques in a laboratory setting.
- Assist with the laboratory activities Support laboratory research projects through hands-on technical assistance.
- Conducts literature searches related to ongoing research studies.
- Creates and maintains Excel spreadsheets for research data tracking.
- Follows laboratory safety protocols and research guidelines.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in high school, trade/vocational school or higher education institution.
