The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology is seeking a qualified candidate to provide quality total nursing care to patients under the direction of a physician in Harris County Hospital District.


Location: Harris Health Gyn Oncology Clinic

Job Responsibilities
  • Coordinating, ordering and scheduling chemotherapy
  • Attend weekly Tumor board
  • Attend monthly Division meetings
  • Coordinate schedules and communicate with inpatient team
  • Physical exams including pelvic exams and Pap smears for patients actively undergoing treatment, post-treatment (surveillance), survivorship visits and BRCA patients.
  • Cancer and chemotherapy symptoms management
  • Order and interpret laboratory, radiologic and diagnostic studies
  • Refer to specialists or EC as indicated
  • Perform minor procedures
  • Prescriptive duties
  • Patient education and counseling including chemotherapy teaching, consents, survivorship, healthy lifestyle, etc.
  • On-call for Infusion Center for trouble shooting and infusion reactions
  • Comfortable working independently
  • Manage active chemo list in EPIC
  • Track new referrals
  • Participate in research projects and trials. There is an opportunity to publish if that is an interest.
  • Preceptor for PA students from Baylor College of Medicine after one year is an option. There is also the opportunity to lecture for the PA program if that is an interest.
Minimum Qualifications

Education: Required: Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies.

Experience: None required.


  • Required: Current license as a Physician Assistant by the State of Texas Physician Assistant Board.
  • Required: Specialty certification as required by department.
  • Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
