The Department of Pediatrics, Rheumatology Division is seeking a qualified candidate for an Advance Practice Provider ( APP) position. The APP will provide direct patient care for patients in the Rheumatology clinics at the Texas Children's Hospital. The selected candidate will be part of Texas Children's Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine . Candidate will be required to provide clinical excellence, scholarly enthusiasm, and a track record of excellent clinical performance.

Job Purpose

To promote the mission, vision and goals of the Rheumatology Section, Department of Pediatrics, Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's Hospital. To provide advanced nursing care to patients in a clinical setting in a area of specialization under the direction of a physician.

Job Duties

Clinical role:

  • Obtain detailed history and perform physical examinations.
  • Perform, order, and interpret diagnostic procedures in accordance with relevant health concerns of the patient.
  • Prescribe appropriate pharmacological and non‐pharmacological treatments.
  • Maintain records and write orders and progress notes in patient charts as to status, treatments, and procedures.
  • Monitors and ensures accuracy of recording on patient medical records.
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Master's degree in Nursing
  • Experience: None Required
  • Certification/Licensing/Registration: Current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the State of Texas Board of Nursing. Current Texas Licensure as an advanced Practice Nurse (APRN‐NP), and specialty certification as required by department. Basic Life Support 9BLS) Certification.
