The Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center is seeking a clinical expert and consultant within a cardiology clinic setting to support the healthcare system (including physicians and facility leaders) with the management of specified populations though independent and collaborative clinical management. 

Job Purpose

Provides advanced nursing care to patients in a clinical setting in an area of specialization under the direction of a physician.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Cover the Executive Health program 2-3 days per week in addition to supervising cardiac stress tests.
  2. Implements individualized, evidence based interventions based on assessment, treatment plan, and identified prioritizes to maximize health potential and/or expected goals of a patient, family, and/or population.
  3. Evaluates progress toward expected goals of a patient, family, and/or population in a systematic and ongoing manner with modification to the plan as appropriate.
  4. Serves as a clinical expert to the interdisciplinary team.
  5. Incorporates and disseminates research findings and evidence based practice into treatment plans, protocols, and guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications

Education and Licensure: 

  • Master’s Degree from an approved Physician Assistant Program or Master’s degree in Nursing or related field. 
  • Licensed as a Physician Assistant in the State of Texas or licensing as a Registered Nurse and as a WHCNP/FNP by the Board of Nurse Examiners of the State of Texas and certification by a recognized certified body for nurse and recognition by the Board of Nurse Examiners as a Nurse Practitioner.

  • Work independently with minimal supervision

  • Able to facilitate change
