CHI St. Luke's Health-The Vintage Hospital is an acute care facility offering a full complement of inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services-including obstetrics and neonatology, orthopedics, gastroenterology, heart and vascular procedures and diagnostic imaging to the Northwest Houston community.

Job Purpose

Provides advanced nursing care to patients in a clinical setting in an area of specialization under the direction of a physician.

Job Duties

Performs a variety of duties such as history and physicals, and provides patient care to assigned patients. Assesses diagnoses, documents findings, and writes medical orders. Makes clinical decisions relative to inpatient management through collaboration with Hospitalists. Work in partnership with interdisciplinary team in the development and delivery of patient care. Facilitates appropriate admissions by initiating orders, coordinating with appropriate attending physician, and moderating medication reconciliation process. Performs and dictates medical consultation, and assists with discharge summary as per hospitalist service standards. Performs and attends multi-disciplinary rounds. Communicates with physicians, nursing staff, residents and other members of the medical team to maintain current and accurate updates in patient status. Participates in division meetings, quality improvement projects and other activities of the Hospital Medicine Program. Innovative care team member working at the top of their license. ​​​​​​​

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Required: Master’s degree in in Nursing.

Experience:  None required.


  • Required: Current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the State of Texas Board of Nursing.
  • Required: Current Texas Licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APRN-NP), and specialty certification as required by department.
  • Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
