The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Critical Care Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital is seeking a full-time faculty for the position of pediatric nurse practitioner acute care (PNP/AC) with specific focus on critical cardiac disease. This position offers unique experience in our high-volume pediatric cardiovascular intensive care units, for an individual who wishes to pursue a career in pediatric cardiac critical care.

The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at Texas Children’s Hospital is one of the highest volume programs in the world. TCH is currently in the expansion process with the opening of a new critical care and surgical tower which will house a new 48 bed CVICU, due to open in late 2018. The candidate will join the existing 26 attending physicians, 4 advanced trainees in pediatric cardiac critical care, 1 advanced trainee in neonatal cardiac critical care, and 6 APPs on our CVICU service.

The section of Critical Care Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics is a multidisciplinary team of attending critical care physicians, advanced practice providers (nurse practitioners/physician assistants), post- doctoral fellows, and research support personnel committed to the care of patients suffering from a life-threatening illness or injury. The primary clinical site is at Texas Children’s Hospital, the largest pediatric hospital in the United States, an affiliated hospital of Baylor College of Medicine.
