The Section of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine is looking for a talented Instructor with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable candidate to support and guide students in a dynamic biomedical research environment. The instructor will assist with experimental design, supervise hands-on laboratory activities, ensure compliance with safety protocols, and support data collection and analysis. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong background in molecular biology, immunology, and for those who are passionate about mentoring and scientific rigor. The position plays a key role in maintaining lab quality and fostering a collaborative, educational atmosphere.
Job Duties
- Conduct high quality research in understanding mechanisms of allograft injury after organ transplantation.
- Supervise fellows, post docs, undergraduate and graduate students.
- Manage the laboratory including ensuring budgetary and expenses are appropriately managed.
- Work with PI to submit grants and manuscripts.
This role will also ensure adherence to institutional biosafety and animal research protocols, maintain lab equipment and inventory, and assist in onboarding and training new lab personnel. Ideal candidates will have experience in immunology techniques, a strong commitment to scientific integrity, and an interest in mentoring junior trainees in a collaborative academic environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- PhD, with a fully completed post-doctoral fellowship and strong publication track record.
- Candidates with a strong publication record will be prioritized.
- Good work ethics and team management abilities.
