Title: Health Educator
Summary
The Dan L Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a Health Educator to provide support to main Office of Outreach and Health Disparities administration by coordinating and implementing projects and community activities for outreach and engagement. Task oriented and detailed for helping manage projects and vendor relationships. Clinical trial participation within the community/catchment areas Office of Outreach and Health Disparities community education and training sessions.
Job Duties
Cancer Research Specific Community Outreach & Engagement
- Develops & maintains community relationships.
- Oversees outreach activities specific to cancer scientific societies.
- Creates & maintains partner databases and track outreach activities.
- Collaborates with researchers/investigators.
Community Education, Planning, Implementation and Evaluation
- Plans educational programming to increase research & clinical trials participation.
- Supports programs to address cancer health disparities, prevention, treatment, & awareness within our catchment areas.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Education, Public Health, Community Health, Behavioral Science or a related field.
- Two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) from the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc (NCHEC).
- Four years experience in health education, community outreach and engagement and health equity, coordinating and managing community-facing health programs. Experience with community education and outreach experience in diverse communities.
- Experience in program planning and supervision.
