The Department of Medicine is looking to grow its finance administration team to support the department’s research enterprise. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for managing the post award functions within the Department of Medicine, maintain several organizational units cost distributions, and preparing routine and specialized financial reports. The candidate will be responsible for providing budget data for the yearly operating budget period. Other responsibilities will include reviewing SAP workflow, approving financial transactions, and monitoring account balances.

Job Duties

  • Develop a method to track industry funded payments, assists with capturing charges and invoice sponsors.
  • Analyze and interprets financial reporting for industry funded studies to PI.
  • Post-award financial management: takes measures to evaluate charges for compliance, forecasts accounts, and advises PI on budget management.
  • Engage in department annual budgeting.
  • Submit budget revisions, processes journal entries, completes Payroll Cost Transfers, updates effort using PePT.
  • Review and monitors expenditures following Purchasing policies and procedures; guides support staff with maintaining policies and procedures (budgeting, cost distributions, SRM, Concur, SAP documents).
  • Interpret financial reports to staff and Principle Investigators; Advises recommendations based on analysis of accounts. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP/SRM/Concur.
  • Industry-Funded Clinical Trials budgeting experience.
  • Grants Management experience.
  • Intermediate Excel skills.
