Title: Financial Analyst II
The Department of Anesthesiology Financial Analyst II serves as the primary financial resource for the department and is an integral member of the administrative team. The Financial Analyst reports to the Administrator and collaborates with the Administrator, Chair, key Faculty leaders, and administrative staff to effectively and efficiently manage the departmental finance areas, including budgeting, financial reporting, and variance analyses; purchasing and expense functions; travel; compensation; financial data for business concepts and pro formas; serving as liaison with Professional Billing Services (PBS) for clinical services revenue; research, contracts and grants funds reporting; and special projects. The role offers a diverse work experience in an expanding department, opportunities for innovation and creativity, and an environment for professional and leadership growth within the Department and College. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, with three (3) plus years relevant experience. Experience in an academic medicine setting is preferred to encompass the three missions of education, research and clinical care. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential in our team-based environment. Confidentiality is required.
Financial Analyst II conducts and documents moderate to complex financial analysis projects. Develops and prepares special financial reports. Analyzes and presents recommendations to management based on financial reports.
Provides technological, financial, and operational support to organizational unit.
Gathers and organizes data and assists in budget preparation.
Designs and maintains pertinent databases.
Monitors expenses.
Develops and prepares specialized financial reports.
Analyzes and presents recommendations to management based on financial reports.
May consult on systems solutions for accounting issues.
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Three years of relevant experience.
