The Faculty Affairs Associate manages the day-to-day business operations of the Office of Faculty Affairs, including facilitating the faculty employment process, reviewing faculty appointment and promotion requests, serving as an administrator for the College’s Faculty Appointments and Promotions (FAP) Committee, conducting training on Faculty Affairs processes with department liaisons, and responding to inquiries from internal and external customers.

Job Duties

  • Manage the daily operations of the office, including, but not limited to, facilitating the faculty employment process and reviewing faculty appointment and promotion requests. 
  • Supervise professional and/or operational-level employees, to include assigning tasks, checking work at frequent intervals, and maintaining action item/deliverables schedules, 
  • Ongoing review and development of process improvements to maximize productivity.
  • Provide guidance and interpretation of policies to leadership and departments regarding faculty appointments and promotions institutional guidelines.
  • Develop faculty affairs process training materials.
  • Conduct internal and external training regarding faculty appointments and promotions and faculty onboarding.
  • Assist with report development of College-wide faculty metrics.
  • Maintain faculty database integrity for College-wide reporting and creation and distribution of annual faculty reappointment letters.
  • Assist with special projects.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Faculty affairs experience in an academic healthcare setting.
  • Human resources experience, particularly in staff or faculty employment.
  • SuccessFactors and/or SAP knowledge.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks and responsibilities appropriately.
  • Ability to professionally communicate and interact with all levels of employees, including department chairs and executive leadership.


This is a hybrid position. Candidate will be expected to come to work two days a week and work three days from home, until otherwise determined by Faculty Affairs leadership.
