The Director, SAP Finance and Logistics will enable and drive change at BCM through the design, build, testing, and deployment of new processes and capabilities to support BCM’s business needs. The role will be responsible for planning and executing a broad range of projects, including a one-time re-implementation of SAP on S/4 HANA, as well as ongoing improvement initiatives related to introducing new and improved SAP capabilities following the re-implementation. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, this position will plan and deliver the objectives of the SAP Re-implementation and future initiatives within specified time frame using specified tools. A comprehensive understanding of the SAP development lifecycle and proven application development methodology is key.

Job Duties

  • Deliver short-term improvement projects and the long-term SAP S/4 HANA reimplementation on time and within budget while meeting strategic mission and business requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with project stakeholders and team members to develop a comprehensive project plan based on approved funding. Project plans will include: Scope, Schedule, Cost, Quality, Organization and Communications, Staffing, Risk and Issue Management, Test, Configuration, and Change Management.
  • Perform Project Estimating and Planning. Estimate project effort based on scope and objectives, create / build / update project schedules, project charters, project plans, status reports, and work breakdown structures that support delivering the objectives of the project. Perform project plan analysis throughout the execution of the project to identify and manage the critical path.
  • Develop and maintain project resource requirements. Identify internal and external resource requirements to meet the deliverables, schedule, and objectives of the project. Develop processes and materials to onboard new team members and effectively utilize resources assigned to the project. Assign and monitor work of project team members, providing support and direction. Evaluate resourcing needs and allocate appropriately.
  • Perform Project Scope Management. Effectively manage project work within the stated scope and facilitate process to agree scope changes and incorporate into project plans.
  • Perform Quality Management. Manage assigned projects and subprojects / work efforts. Work with project team and other external service providers to define appropriate project methodology, deliverables, roles and responsibilities, approvals, and entry/exit criteria to support delivery of the project objectives.
  • Perform Issue & Risk Management. Create RAID logs (Risk, Action, Issue, and Decision) and facilitate mitigation and resolution of issues and risks impacting the project.
  • Perform Communication Management. Create / implement project organization and communication plans which enable the project team to effectively work together to meet project objectives.
  • Lead Key Project Meetings to inform project leadership and external stakeholders on the project. Prepare meeting agendas and meeting minutes, distribute meeting documentation, capture maintain decisions, issues, and action items. Facilitate and lead meetings and steering committee meetings by being well-prepared and adhering to topics.
  • Develop and maintain a high quality team of internal BCM SAP team members who participate actively in the project, support the legacy SAP system and oversee it's transition to the new S4 solution, and will ultimately become the COE team for continuous improvement and support of the new SAP solutions.
  • Develop and maintain a productive and effective relationship with third party vendors who BCM will rely upon for implementation and support of the new SAP solution. This could include hosting providers, software providers, and implementation partners. Ensure vendors are effectively completing the work required of them within the budget and timeframe required. Leverage contractual processes to escalate and manage issues as they arise.
  • Assure compliance with BCM project management policies and standards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree.
  • Seven years of relevant experience. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Engineering, MIS, Business/Management or directly related degree.
  • Ten years of Project Management experience with software implementations
  • Minimum of five years' SAP project management implementation experience
  • PMP
