The Director, Clinical Operations helps with the data sets used to set the annual Baylor Medicine Clinical Chair goals. The Director, Clinical Operations leads the strategic direction for clinics within a department by developing clinic goals and leading process improvement activities and manages multiple teams led by managers and supervisors.

Job Duties

  • Actively manages clinical faculty compensation for the Baylor Medicine practice.  
  • Advises departments on technical aspects of compensation design, assures compliance with all College policies and procedures.
  • Provides administrative support to the clinical faculty compensation committee.
  • Has a broad understanding of faculty compensation issues across mission areas and major College affiliates.
  • Promotes alignment where possible.
  • Makes strategic decisions on matters related to patient throughput, revenue cycle integrity, and patient satisfaction.
  • Manages multiple teams led by managers and supervisors, to include defining work responsibilities and prioritization, setting performance development plans and goals, and conducting annual performance evaluations.
  • Oversees financial management and accountability of the clinic(s), monitoring  financial transactions, and financial reporting.  
  • Makes strategic decisions based on the financial data.
  • Prepares and present reports for programs, business development, and financial data to appropriate leadership and stakeholders.
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of successful strategies for the clinical mission’s long-term growth and stability.
  •  Actively collaborates with key department and College stakeholders to maximize effective business operations.
  • Oversee or originate special projects or initiatives related to the business operations of the clinical mission.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • Seven years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in business operations, finance, human resources, project management, process improvement, planning, and execution.
  • Advanced excel skills and the ability to produce effective and actionable reporting.
