Summary
The Data Analytics Associate supports the clinical, operational, and financial functions of the Departments of Orthopedic Surgery, Urology, Otolaryngology, and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation by transforming complex EPIC/EMR data into actionable insights. This role develops and manages dashboards, conducts statistical and revenue-cycle analyses, prepares recruitment and business development analytics, and provides consultative support for faculty practice performance.
The ideal candidate will have analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills, strong attention to detail, ability to communicate complex data clearly, initiative and adaptability, and demonstrates professionalism and collaboration.
This position is located at our McNair Campus and is eligible to work onsite and telecommute.
Job Duties
System Performance & Analysis – 45%
- Develops and maintains databases, data collection systems, and reporting processes to support operational and business analytics.
- Designs and maintains dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to support departmental performance monitoring.
- Develops descriptive and predictive analyses to support operational and strategic decision-making.
Data Management & Analysis – 50%
- Extracts, integrates, and validates data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and integrity.
- Utilizes reporting and analytics tools to run queries and support routine and ad hoc reporting needs.
- Analyzes data using statistical and analytical techniques to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepares reports and analyses to support business planning, performance evaluation, and process improvement initiatives.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions and user-friendly reports.
- Prepares documentation in accordance with established standards and guidelines.
- Provides technical support and communicates findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- One to two years of relevant healthcare analytics experience.
- Proficiency in EPIC reporting tools, data validation, Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience working in clinical or academic medical environments.
- Experience with working with pivot tables.
- Experience with research reporting (indirects, clinical trials, etc.).
