Summary
The Department of Medicine and IQuESt: The Center for Innovations in Quality, Effectiveness and Safety, is seeking a Coordinator, Business Operations to join our team at Baylor College of Medicine and the Michael E DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, TX. As the largest center for Health Services Research in the Southwest, our mission is to improve health and well-being through innovations in health care delivery. We conduct high-quality scientific research that improves the health of patients across the nation, by helping to ensure the patient-centered delivery of scientific discoveries. We are seeking a qualified Business Operations Coordinator with experience supporting operational, financial, personnel, and communications functions within a complex academic or healthcare environment.
Job Duties
- Provides administrative and operational support for departmental and research activities within the Center.
- Assists the Fellowship Program Director related to educational activities such as coordinating grand rounds and trainings, fellow seminars, update alumni database, review and track survey data, create fellowship brochures and welcome packets.
- Assists with financial and business processes by supporting budget tracking, processing operational documents, monitoring expenditures, preparing reports and spreadsheets, and maintaining records related to purchasing and departmental expenses.
- Supports faculty and staff with administrative workflows and institutional processes.
- Supports departmental communications through preparation and distribution of newsletters, announcements, website updates, presentations, and other communication materials.
- Drafts, edits, and reviews content for clarity, consistency, and professionalism. Assists with maintaining departmental web pages, forms, and electronic communications.
- Coordinates meetings, educational activities, and departmental events, including scheduling, logistics, and preparation of materials. Serves as a point of contact for routine operational questions.
- Maintains organized records, databases, and tracking systems to support departmental operations and reporting needs.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Proficiency using Adobe Lightroom, Canva proficient, Smartsheet, Microsoft Excel.
