The Coordinator, Program Management will provide administrative support for the HEAL (Humanities Expression and Arts Lab) program as well as the Division of Medical Education Research and Scholarship within the Office of the Senior Dean within the Education Mission. This position will manage day to day needs for both programs equally.


This position will be full time in the office (Debakey building, BCM) initially for the first 2 months. There is then the possibility of working out a alternative hybrid work schedule with program leadership.

Job Duties

  • Support in all aspects of individual course preparation, implementation and communication out to departments.
  • Aid with the preparation and submission of grant applications; including researching potential grant opportunities.
  • Responsible for coordination and scheduling of medical humanities hour with various departments.
  • Schedule meetings, send reminders, find room (or off campus space) availability for the Communications course.
  • Assist in Scholarship efforts by reviewing manuscripts/abstracts/grants as needed, inserting citations into manuscripts, aiding with submission of grant applications/abstracts/manuscripts.
  • Help coordinate training sessions, evaluation forms, and materials for training and education activities.
  • Maintain listserv communications.
  • Provide support for the Research and Scholarship elective course--schedule meetings, reminder, Blackboard maintenance. 
  • Maintain website for both programs and social media presence while working with BCM Communications.
  • Provide administrative support for the program leadership including maintaining calendars, scheduling meetings, ordering supplies, processing travel, preparing correspondence.
  • Be the on-site coordinator for program activities as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous program administrative support experience.
